The Panorama Route, South Africa connects
several cultural and natural points of interest.
The route is steeped in the history of South
Africa and is situated in the Mpumalanga
province. The route is centred around the
Blyde River Canyon, the world’s third largest
canyon, and features numerous beautiful wa-
terfalls and walks. Following the natural des-
cent from the Escarpment down into the
Lowveld, the Panorama Route ends at the bor-
der of the Mpumalanga and Limpopo
provinces near the Echo Caves and includes
towns like Graskop, Pilgrim’s Rest and Sabie.
Between Hoedspruit and Graskop you will be
able to stop at various look-outs with magnifi-
cent views of the Blyde Dam below and across
to the famous Three Rondawels as well as
stops at God’s Window, Wonder View, Lisbon
Falls to name but a few. On a clear day you are
able to see Mozambique in the distance from
the top of the Escarpment.
